2. What Data We Collect

Where a User provides Personal Data belonging to someone else, the User is responsible for that Data and confirms they have obtained the third party’s consent to share it with PMC.
3. Why We Process Your Data
PMC processes User Data in order to deliver its Services, and for the following purposes: analytics, advertising, commercial affiliation, contacting Users, content commenting, transferring data outside the EU, displaying content from external platforms, managing contacts and sending messages, optimising and distributing traffic, interacting with external social networks and platforms, and hosting/backend infrastructure.
4. How We Process Your Data
Security and Methods
PMC applies appropriate technical and organisational security measures to guard against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of Data.
Processing takes place using computers and IT systems, following procedures tied strictly to the purposes described here. Depending on the task, Data may be accessible to PMC staff involved in administration, sales, marketing, legal, or systems administration, as well as external parties — for example technical service providers, hosting companies, mail carriers, or communications agencies — acting as Data Processors on PMC’s behalf where necessary. A current list of these parties is available on request.
Legal Basis
PMC processes Personal Data on one or more of the following grounds:
- the User has given consent for a specific purpose;
- processing is needed to perform a contract with the User, or to take pre-contractual steps at their request;
- processing is required to meet a legal obligation;
- processing supports a task carried out in the public interest or under official authority;
- processing serves a legitimate interest of PMC or a third party.
Some legal frameworks permit processing on an opt-out basis rather than requiring consent — this does not apply where EU data protection law governs the processing.
PMC can clarify, on request, which legal basis applies to a given instance of processing, and whether providing certain Data is a legal, contractual, or purely voluntary matter.
Where Data Is Processed
Data is processed at PMC’s offices and at any other location where parties involved in the processing are based. Depending on where a User is located, this may mean Data crosses into a different country. Users can ask PMC for details of the safeguards applied to any such transfer, including transfers outside the European Union or to international bodies such as the UN.
How Long We Keep Data
Data is kept only as long as its purpose requires:
- Data tied to a contract with a User is retained until that contract is complete.
- Data processed under PMC’s legitimate interests is kept only as long as those interests require.
PMC may retain Data for longer where a User has consented to this (until that consent is withdrawn), or where a longer retention period is legally required. Once a retention period ends, the Data is deleted — meaning rights such as access, correction, erasure, and portability can no longer be exercised over it.
5. Your Rights Over Your Data
PMC gives Users a number of ways to control how their Personal Data is handled:
Changing your mind. If PMC is processing your Data based on consent, you can withdraw that consent whenever you like.
Pushing back on processing. Where PMC relies on a legal basis other than consent, you can object to the processing — see the next section for how this works, particularly for marketing.
Seeing what PMC holds. You can ask whether PMC is processing your Data, request details of that processing, and get a copy of the Data itself.
Fixing inaccuracies. You can check that your Data is correct and ask PMC to update or correct anything that isn’t.
Pausing processing. In certain situations, you can ask PMC to limit processing to storage only, without further use.
Requesting deletion. In certain situations, you can ask PMC to erase your Data entirely.
Taking your Data elsewhere. Where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract, you can request your Data in a portable, machine-readable format, and — where technically possible — have it sent directly to another provider.
Raising a complaint. You’re entitled to complain to your relevant data protection authority if you believe your rights haven’t been respected.
Objecting to Processing, in Detail
If PMC processes your Data for a public-interest task, under official authority, or for a legitimate interest, you can object — but you’ll need to explain why, based on your particular circumstances.
The exception is direct marketing: if PMC processes your Data for marketing purposes, you can object at any time, no explanation required. Check the relevant section of this policy to see whether marketing is among the purposes that apply to you.
